Regular Order, Day 5

  • Please join us for Adoration today in the second floor chapel. There will be praise and worship music during the second half of lunch in adoration. 
  • There will not be confessions today during the second half of lunch. Confessions will resume on Friday 
  • The varsity soccer team will face Catholic in the LHSAA Division 1 state championship game on Saturday night at Strawberry Stadium in Hammond with kickoff set for 7:30.  Tickets are priced at $20.00 each. Be certain to check the link on jesuitnola.org to purchase tickets.
  • Friday will be a Blue and White Day to support the soccer team as they compete in the title game this weekend. Wear a blue, white, or a blue and white collared shirt or a Jesuit imprinted t-shirt to show your Blue Jay Spirit on Friday.
  • There will be a Spirit Bus headed to the soccer game on Saturday evening. Stop by the Student Activities Office, Room 131, to pick up a permission form if you are interested. Forms are due on Friday.
  • Juniors who applied for the service trip to Appalachia should see Mr. Prados today.
  • All football, cross country, and swimming lettermen should pick up their stripes, patches, and lettermen jackets on the 1st floor of the Madonna Della Strata Building by the door leading out to the back parking lot today during lunch.
  • As MLB spring training is underway, Jesuit’s next SABR Club meeting will be during the first half of lunch in Room 331.
  • The Sports Analysis Club will discuss life after the NFL Season and more during the second half of lunch in Room 231. 
  • The Pro-Life club will meet today during the second half of lunch in Room 316.
  • The Tech Crew meets today from 3-5:30PM andis still looking for new members.  If you are a maker or have an interest in lighting, sound, construction, painting, or any other behind the scenes creative work, stop by the Phils office, Room 201 at lunch for more information and an application.
  • Can you do character voices and accents?  Are you interested in Voice Acting? Do you love story-telling but hate memorizing lines?  The JHSP Radio Theatre club meets today and on Thursdays after school from 3:30-5:00PM in Rm 202.
  • The Cast of Guys & Dolls will rehearse today from 4-7PM, Phaculty Phils needed, please.
  • The bowling team will face Holy Cross this afternoon at Bowlero starting at 3:20. 
  • The varsity rugby team will face Santa Monica (CA) this evening at Marconi.
  • The varsity baseball team will begin play in the WGNO Tournament this afternoon vs. Lakeshore at Shaw with first pitch set for 4:00.
  • The varsity basketball team will host Holy Cross in the bi-district round of the state playoffs tonight night in the Benson Arena with tip off set for 7:00.  Ticket prices are set at $10.00 each for adults and students (non-Jesuit and non-Holy Cross) and $5.00 each for students (Jesuit and Holy Cross) with ID and children (ages 6-11).  Note that student ID’s and season passes are not accepted at the gate for LHSAA playoff contests.  The ticket booth will open for ticket sales at 5:45 while the doors open at 6:00.
  • To celebrate Black History Month, The Jesuit Men of Color are proud to present our final edition of Four on Friday, a study of music that shaped the Civil Rights Movement. Join us during the first half of lunch on Friday in Room 210 as senior Israel Fortin and junior Darrick LeBeouf cover gospel songs by Fannie Lou Hamer, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Mavis Staples, and Mahlia Jackson.
  • The Jesuit Medical Society is sponsoring a Spring Blood Drive on Monday, March 4. Students age 16 and older are eligible to donate. A representative will be visiting your homeroom soon or see Mrs. Tassin in Room 317 to sign up. 
  • This week we are raising money for the Mission Drive through a drive for Fresh Kicks Fridays. Each homeroom that raises $150 collectively will be awarded a Fresh Kick Friday on Friday, March 8 (the Fridays before exams).  Bring money into your homeroom all this week and next week. Homerooms that make this minimum amount will be issued a bracelet to be worn on Fresh kicks Friday along with your Fresh kicks. Shoes must cover the toes and have backs. Slides, flip-flops, and sandals are not allowed. Students may wear Crocs, but they must be in ‘sport mode.’ White socks may be worn in place of black socks, but socks must be worn.
  • Second-notice printing fees for January have been sent to students’ Outlook email accounts (not Canvas messaging). Students who owe printing fees may pay in Room 215 before school, during the 10-minute break, or at the lunch hour to avoid losing computer services and receiving a PH.
  • All Intramural games today have been moved to the 3rd floor gym.
  • All students interested in being on the intramural leadership team should meet in computer lab 3 the last 20 minutes of lunch on Friday. We will be talking about playoffs, All-Star week, March Madness Tournament, and cabbage ball.
