On Saturday, April 9, the Jesuit lacrosse team (3-2) celebrated its annual senior game at Joseph Yenni Stadium in Metairie. Seniors Pablo Rodriguez, Miles Kehoe, David Martin, and George Martin met their parents on the field to be recognized before the match against Brother Martin officially kicked off.

Brother Martin started strong, scoring the match’s first goal within the opening few minutes of the game. Not to be caught off balance, the Blue Jay defense closed the gaps while the offense immediately responded with a couple rapid-fire goals of their own. Ultimately, by the end of the evening, Jesuit had racked up 16 points to Brother Martin’s 5, securing victory for the Jays.

Sophomores John Calhoun and Jack Sutherlin picked up three goals a piece with points also being added to the board by a plethora of Blue Jays including Nick Frischhertz (who also provided three assists), Aidan Couvillion, Tyler Autin, Conner Richardson, David Martin, and Michael Welsh.

In the midfield, Martin successfully won five of five face-offs with junior Mason Mannina contributing another three.

The lacrosse team will conclude its regular season on Wednesday, April 13 at 6:30 p.m. at Muss Bertolino against St. Thomas More from Lafayette.
