On the turf at Tad Gormley Stadium on Saturday, January 8, the Jesuit soccer team (11-1-4) celebrated its senior players and managers at the annual soccer senior game. The team’s senior Blue Jays and their parents met on the field before play began to mark each family’s years of dedication to the program and to the school.

The soccer team came away with a 2-1 win over Grace King from Metairie. On both sides of the pitch, the Jays put up a strong showing with senior Jake Arcement scoring the first goal of the afternoon. Dribbling past the Grace King goalkeeper, Alex Patron walked in the second goal to ensure a Jesuit win.

The match sets up positive momentum for the team as it heads into a highly anticipated matchup against the Bears from Catholic High School (9-1-4), the defending LHSAA state champions, this Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Pan American Stadium. The game will be streamed by Crescent City Sports and can be viewed by clicking here.
