Junior wide receiver Jace Larsen catches a touchdown on Friday, Oct. 8, 2021

Senior quarterback Jack Larriviere surveyed the defense and looked for an opening to start the game, and it did not take long to find exactly that. Mere seconds after the ball was snapped, Larriviere whipped a strike to junior wide receiver Jace Larsen, and he did the rest by taking it 67 yards to the house.

The rest of the game followed in the same fashion as Jesuit (3-1, 2-1) defeated St. Augustine 42-12 in Tad Gormley Stadium. The whole team shined by forcing turnovers when they were needed and scoring point constantly to keep the game of reach for the Purple Knights.

Larriviere shined and showed why he can beat you in a number of ways. He finished with 158 yards on the ground, completed all four of his passes for 109 yards in the air, and tallied six total scores. Junior running back Jaron Duplessis also contributed to the offensive success with 90 rushing yards in the first half.

District victories are always important, and this win shows that the Jays can compete and beat anyone with their mixed attack on offense and aggressive style of turnover defense. Jesuit will need all of these aspects to defeat an impressive John Curtis team on Friday, Oct. 15, 2021.
