Day 2

  • Mission Drive pizza sales will resume today. Pizzas are sold for $10 each.
  • All Sodality levels will meet today during the second half of lunch in their normal room assignments.
  • All wrestlers will meet today after school in the wrestling room. Bring any singlets or warmups to turn in. Anyone interested in joining the wrestling team should also attend. See Coach Orillion if you cannot attend.
  • The St. Peter Claver Club will meet today after school in Room 210.
  • The rugby team will face Destrehan at City Park tonight starting at 7:00.
  • The JV baseball team faces John Curtis at Harahan this afternoon starting at 4:15.
  • The 9th grade baseball team faces Country Day at Pontiff this afternoon starting at 5:00.
  • The 8th grade baseball team plays at Brother Martin this afternoon starting at 4:30.
  • Jesuit Medical Society will meet tomorrow after school in room 317.
  • The Model UN Team will meet tomorrow after school in Room 214.
  • The Investment Club will meet Friday morning at 7:25 in Room 334. New members are welcome.
  • Jesuit’s next community service offering will be a painting project at Tad Gormely stadium from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday, March 12. Any students interested in participating should see Mr. Murphy in Room 225.
  • Printing fees for the month of February have been distributed in homeroom. If you have received a notice, please pay your fee before Thursday, March 11 to avoid the potential of losing computer services.  Fees may be paid in Room 215 before school, at break, and during the lunch periods.
  • Attention all students who drive to school:  There is a link regarding New Orleans regulations for parking on the school’s website under the Student Life page and also on Canvas.  It is very important that you understand the rules related to parking in the neighborhood in order to avoid being towed or ticketed.

Results:

  • On Tuesday, the varsity baseball team defeated Warren Easton 10-0.  James Bendeck pitched a no-hitter and struck out five batters.  Holden Hess went 3-3 with two RBI’s and Zack Casebonne had two hits. 
  • Congratulations to the Varsity Bowling Team who beat Archbishop Shaw Monday, 24-3. The high game of the afternoon, a 257, belonged to Ben “One and Done” Hunn. High series goes to Luke “X-Factor” Wood, averaging 220. Tyler “The Roof Man” Westfall, Josh “Think Big, Bowl Big” Barraza, and Jonah “ The Whale Killer” Anderson all beat their averages — Anderson by 41 pins. The bowling team is 5-1.
  • The Lacrosse team started the season strong with a 20-4 victory over UMS-Wright out of Mobile Saturday at Joe Yenni. The Jays were led by Senior Andrew Brown, who finished the game with 7 goals and 3 assists. Senior Jack Unger added 5 goals and 2 assists, and Senior Evan Centola contributed 2 goals and 3 assists. The JV team followed Varsity with a 9-0 win.
  • On Monday, the basketball team defeated Rummel 58-29 in the regional round of the state play-offs. The offense was led by Porter Lichtl who scored 14 points and Matthew Knight who scored 10. William Good pulled down an impressive 9 rebounds. On Friday, the team travels to Catholic High of Baton Rouge in the quarter finals of the state playoffs.
