Each year, the New Orleans Hispanic Heritage Foundation selects Greater New Orleans high school students to receive substantial merit-based scholarship awards. For the 2020-21 school year, the NOHHF identified six current Blue Jays as NOFHH Scholars.

“We are all very pleased to be able to contribute to the betterment of these young men who receive these scholarships and who, most likely, one day will make a substantial positive impact on our community,” said Belinda Flores-Shinshillas, executive director of the foundation. “Please keep us informed about their academic and overall progress.”

Each of the following students received $1,500 awards this year:

Cristoffer Garcia, Senior

Joshua Guzman, Senior

Alexander Moya, Junior

Leonardo Garcia, Sophomore

Eduardo Lagos, Freshman

Jesse Martinez, Freshman

The awards were presented to students last week by Jesuit President Fr. John Brown, S.J., in a special assembly in St. Ignatius Hall.
