Blue Jay football players faced stiff competition at this weekend’s game against Archbishop Rummel High School (6-1). The 11:00 a.m. matchup at Joseph Yenni Stadium in Metairie concluded with a 13–36 final score in favor of the Raiders.

The game got off to a slow start for Jesuit with back-to-back Raider touchdowns in the beginning of the first quarter.

In addition to the slow start, Jesuit was constantly pressured by the active Raider defense that forced three interceptions and a forced fumble.

Even through all of these difficulties, Jesuit never quit. The defense held the Raider offense to three red-zone field goals in the first half to keep the game within striking distance.

Senior Luke Besh ended his tremendous regular season campaign with a touchdown, giving him 13 on the year. Senior Jalen Williams also contributed on offense with 37 yards on the ground. Senior Luke LaForge and junior Jack Larriviere combined for 87 yards in the air and one touchdown pass.

Now, Jesuit (4-4) will look ahead to the exciting playoff matchup against St. Paul’s on Nov. 29, 2020 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s.
