Soccer Takes First District Loss to Crusaders, 3-1

Before facing Brother Martin the Jesuit Blue Jays had six straight victories with five shutouts, outscoring their opponents 20-1. The Jays were unable to keep the streak alive on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 25, at the Elysian Fields campus. They fell 3-1 to Brother Martin after giving up three unanswered goals in the second half alone.

“Despite the loss we learned a good lesson today,” said head coach Hubie Collins. “When we score a goal, we have to push on, play even tougher. Today, Brother Martin looked like they wanted it a little more in front of their home crowd. They played well. But this is a testament to our character…how are we going to move forward and respond to this?”
