Jesuit won the first half, but Holy Cross controlled the second. That was enough for the home team.

The Blue Jay basketball team dropped a tight contest to the Tigers, 47-39, on Tuesday, Jan. 14, at Holy Cross. While Jesuit led after the first and second quarters by one and four points, respectively, the Jays allowed the Tigers to claw their way to a one-point lead at the start of the fourth. Both teams struggled from beyond the arc and were evenly matched across all other categories.

Senior Kyle Haupt led the Jays with 13 points that included a 7-for-8 showing at the free throw line. Christopher Gillen and Porter Litchl added eight and seven points, respectively.

Luke LaForge had a strong night defensively, leading the team with six rebounds, three blocks, and two steals.

The Jays travel to Shaw on Friday, Jan. 17, with tip-off set for 7:00 p.m.
