With PR’s Across the Board Cross Country Takes 2nd In Regionals
The cold and drizzly weather did not dampen the spirits of the Jesuit Cross Country team as they took home an impressive 2nd-place finish at the LHSAA Region 3-5A Championship on Friday, Nov. 8. All seven Blue Jays beat their own personal records (PR) and placed within the top 30 of 111 runners. Leading the team to its runner-up finish was Luke LaCour with a 6th-place finish and a time of 16:16.89.
Holy Cross took third place, 12 points behind Jesuit, and Brother Martin claimed regional champions undercutting Jesuit by just 52 points.
Through the Lens…

By the Numbers…
Each team ran its top seven runners. The first five runners from each team to cross the finish line receive the points that correspond to their place. The first place runner receives one point, the second place runner two, and so on. The team receiving the lowest score wins. The sixth and seventh runners on a team, although they don’t receive a score, can also be important, in that they can “displace” scoring runners from the other team.
