Retif is off and running like a well-oiled machine.

Approaching the midway point of their regular season, the Retif Oilers (6-2) have proven themselves capable of playing competitive American Legion Baseball with wins both in-state and out-of-state. In defeating Best Chevrolet (De La Salle), Gulf Coast Bank (Chalmette), and Pedal Valves, Jesuit’s summer squad is undefeated at Kirsch-Rooney and against New Orleans-based teams. The Oilers also picked up three of their four games in California at the San Jose Tournament, where they outlasted Bellarmine Prep, Archbishop Mitty High, and Leigh High.

They lost their third game of the season, 2-1, in a close battle with Lakeshore of St. Tammany Parish. Their only other loss came in the final game of the San Jose Tournament. Jesuit Sacramento defended its home turf to win, 4-1.

With four graduated seniors competing, the Oilers continue to build camaraderie as they look ahead to the second half of the regular season and the postseason. Upcoming games and tentative postseason dates can be found on the American Legion Baseball Schedule.
