Jesuit’s tennis team picked up its second shutout of the spring season, beating district rival Archbishop Rummel 7-0 on Thursday, Feb. 23 at the UNO Tennis Center.

Sophomore David Nimmo and junior Paul Myers picked up singles wins at Lines 1 and 2, respectively. A pair of freshmen, Tom Levy and Wes Melito, defeated their opponents on Lines 3 and 4.

Nimmo then teamed up with Myers for the closest call of the day, an 8-2 win at Line 1 doubles. Levy and Melito, meanwhile, posted an 8-0 win on Line 2. Sophomores Stephen Redfearn and David Dillon closed out the scoring with an 8-0 win on Line 3.

The season shuts down for the next couple of weeks with Mardi Gras and exam week. The Jays return to action on March 17 when they take to the road for the McGill-Toolen Invitational in Mobile, Alabama.
