Lacrosse Captures District Win Over Tigers

The Jesuit lacrosse team ran its district record to 6-0 by whipping Holy Cross, 24-2. The game took place on Tuesday, March 29, under the lights of Muss Bertolino Stadium in Kenner.

Three players — senior Max Murret and juniors Briggs Lucia and Parker Simoneaux — combined for a dozen goals. Murret added three assists to his impressive season stat sheet. Juniors Jack Cronvich and Michael Smart had two goals apiece.

Two players scooped up six ground balls — Simoneaux and junior Bennett Faust. The Blue Jays won 26 of 29 face-offs.

Jesuit scored on four of five man-advantage opportunities.

Junior goalie Grant Stevens saved two shots, protecting the Blue Jay goal in the final three quarters.

The Jays (14-1) face St. Paul’s (12-3) for the LHSLL South district championship on Saturday, April 2, in Covington. The opening face-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
