Coaches and statisticians are running out of adjectives to describe lacrosse team captain Max Murret. The senior scored four goals and assisted on six others in a 15-6 victory over Ocean Springs. The game was played on Monday, March 21, in Mississippi.

Murret scored four goals against Rockhurst High School on Friday, March 19, and three against Mandeville, on Wednesday, March 16. In less than a week’s time, the four-year starter has accumulated 11 goals and 12 assists.

Junior Noah Martin matched Murret’s four goals in the Ocean Springs contest. Super sophomore Aiden Roberts scored three times, while senior midfielder Dominic Sunseri, the team’s other four year player, added two. Senior Connor Martinez and junior Parker Simoneaux added lone goals. Simoneaux led the team in ground balls, scooping up seven.

Senior goalie Rob Hinub saved a dozen shots in the crease.

Oceans Springs won 17 of 21 face-offs.

The Jays, who are now 4-0 in district competition, return to action on Wednesday, March 23, against Christian Brothers High School of Memphis, Tennessee. Face-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Muss Bertolino in Kenner, but Jesuit fans are encouraged to arrive early to honor the squad’s 16 seniors and their parents.
