The Blue Jay wrestling team fell to four-time defending state Division I state champion Brother Martin, 41-18, in a hard-fought dual meet at the Crusaders’ Robert M. Conlin Gymnasium.

Two Blue Jay wrestlers pinned their opponents — Guy Patron, Jr. (195) and Corey Dublin (285). Eli Larriviere (126) and Jackson de Gruy (132) also defeated their opponents in thrilling fashion — Larriviere in a 7-4 decision and De Gruy in a 9-8 decision.

The wrestling team returns to the mat this weekend when they travel to Lafayette to participate in the Ken Cole Invitational. The Jays finally return home when they take on Archbishop Rummel on Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 6:30 p.m. in the Birdcage.
