The Blue Jays head to the regional tournament on Monday, March 20.

In a battle of the birds, Blue Jay bowlers prevailed over the Fighting Owls of Chalmette, 22.5 to 4.5. The match took place on Monday, March 13, at All Star Lanes in Kenner.

With junior Mason French’s high score of 221, the Jays captured the first game 5-3. But the second and third games were less close, as the Jesuit bowlers ran away with the match. Five of six Blue Jays were victorious in game two, winning 7-1 and heading into the third game up by 282 pins. In addition to five of the six Jays emerging victorious in game three, junior Trent Greco tied his opponent — the Jays handily outscored the Owls, seizing 7.5 of the eight points. On the day, Jesuit captured all available bonus points for higher pin totals, outpacing Chalmette by nearly 500 pins.

French had an outstanding match, adding a 205 game to his monster 221 effort for a total series of 617. Junior Trent Greco followed with a 547 series, and junior Gerard Miller bowled a 200 game for a total series of 536.
