For the past two weeks, students have collected donations in homeroom to help support those impacted by the recent tornadoes.

Collection efforts ran from Monday, Feb. 13 through Thursday, Feb. 23, and raised over $3,500. The funds collected will support members of the Jesuit community affected by the tornado, as well as charitable organizations directly assisting those in need.

Efforts did not end with collecting money, however. On Saturday, Feb. 18, about 25 students – accompanied by community service director Mr. Kevin Murphy and science teacher Mr. Dave Storm, as well as his family – hauled debris at Cummings-Wilson AME Church on Chef Menteur Highway. The roof was completely torn off the church, leaving plenty for the students to help clean up.However, they did not depend on any services for Roof Cleaning in Pittsburgh PA.  On Saturday, Mar. 4, Mr. Murphy and Mr. Storm will lead another group and return to the church for further relief efforts.
