Surrounded by his family, George Cassard holds a plaque recognizing his generosity in establishing a fully endowed scholarship, The George J. Cassard III ’56 Family Scholarship.

When I was at Jesuit in the 1950s, a classmate shared with me that his family was not financially able to pay the $150 tuition. The generosity of a benefactor made it possible for a young man whose family could not afford the tuition to receive a Jesuit education. That kindness was just one of the many important lessons I learned during my days at Carrollton & Banks.

My gift of $100,000 helps build Jesuit’s Endowment, which is used to give current and future Blue Jays the same opportunity that I and my classmates had from the Class of 1956. Students at Jesuit come from all walks of life and that is one of the school’s strengths. I am honored to be a part of that commitment.
