The Jesuit swimming team opened the 2014 season with a strong win over Mandeville, 107-63, on Thursday, Sept. 4, in Mandeville.

The team has a substantial base of 24 swimmers, including nine seniors, returning to the pool this year. Six of these swimmers placed in the 2013 LHSAA Division 1 State Championship, earning the Blue Jays a runner-up trophy in Sulphur.

After the season-opening win, the Jays are infused with enthusiasm and ready to compete in their next two meets. The first is against Vandebilt High School on Tuesday, Sept. 9, at UNO. The Jays face Northshore on Thursday, Sept. 11, in Slidell.
