The Guidance Department cordially invites you to attend “Peer Support for Parents,” a new parent group on campus for those interested in learning more about issues relevant to parenting teens, such as motivating students to improve, study skills, alcohol and drug prevention, and bullying, just to name a few. Parents will hear a presentation by counseling staff and/or guest speakers. Following the presentation parents will have the opportunity to ask questions and to discuss/share their own experiences, thoughts, and ideas related to the topic. It is a great way for parents to learn helpful information about issues affecting teens and to gain insights from each other in an informal, small-group setting.

The first meeting for Peer Support for Parents is on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. in Room 329. The topic of the first meeting is “Motivating the Unmotivated Student,” presented by Mary Favalora, L.C.S.W., the Director of Guidance. Check-in time begins at 7:45 a.m.

If you have any questions about the meeting, or to RSVP, please email favalora@jesuitnola.org or contact the guidance office at (504) 483-3828.
