 As part of the Eucharistic Renewal, a program created to enhance a Blue Jay’s Lenten experience, Archbishop Gregory Aymond joined the Jesuit Fathers Wednesday morning to celebrate Mass for the Jesuit community in the Chapel of the North American Marytrs. In his homily, Archbishop Aymond encouraged Blue Jays to use Lent to focus on a specific weakeness rather than a vast array of challenges in their goal to deepen their relationship with God and with others.

January Community Mass: Make the Right Choices to be Better Men

| The Jesuit community gathered Wednesday morning to celebrate the Holy Eucharist in the Chapel of the North American Martyrs. Fr. Anthony McGinn, S.J., presided over the Mass with Fr. Donald Saunders, S.J., and Fr. Nick Schiro, S.J. In his homily, Fr. McGinn used the gospel reading to challenge the congregation to resist the evils that plague all people-- namely dishonesty, elitism, and passivity. Father reminded all that the choices we make in our lives will determine the success we will have in conquering these ills. He concluded that by calling upon the Holy Spirit for help, we can meet the struggle to resist and to overcome these evils. |

| Jesuit families, friends, and alumni gathered for Midnight Mass to celebrate the Birth of Our Lord in the Chapel of the North American Martyrs. Fr. Anthony McGinn, S.J., President of Jesuit High School, encouraged the congregation to give thanks to God for his great gift in His Son Jesus. Father reminded the assembly that through Jesus’ death and resurrection, man is liberated from sin. Blue Jays "Dream of a White" Kairos Retreat
 Blue Jays who participated in this past weekend’s Kairos Retreat, a weekend of spiritual reflection led by seniors, enjoyed a little lagniappe when the snow began to fall Friday night at Rosaryville (outside of Hammond, Louisiana). The snowfall made a special weekend all the more memorable.

Annual Mass of the Holy Spirit Concluded Welcome Week 2009, Allowing Blue Jays to Reflect on Year Ahead  The annual Mass of the Holy Spirit was celebrated Friday, September 4, 2009 with more than 1,300 Blue Jays filling the Chapel of the North American Martyrs. Traditionally, the Mass concludes a busy Welcome Week chocked full of activities, lunch, frivolity, and spirited games.

Eighth Grade Night of Reflection Introduces Newest Blue Jays to the Jesuit Family Eighth graders gathered on campus Sunday evening to learn more about Jesuit, their classmates, and their future roles in the Blue Jay community. Under the direction of juniors and seniors involved in the campus ministry program, each pre-freshman started the process of making the most of his Jesuit education by beginning to explore his academic expectations and to reflect on deepening his spiritual life.
