Lent is a season of spiritual renewal. It provides Christians a chance to reflect and to draw closer to God in faith and in action. This Lenten season, the Jesuit community will have the opportunity to refocus on their faith and deepen their relationship with God through the Eucharist Renewal. Utilizing the teachings of St. Ignatius’s Spiritual Exercises, this Lenten program provides each Blue Jay with the prospect to experience, reflect, act, and evaluate his faith centered upon the Holy Eucharist. The students' own Lenten penances will be supplemented with reflection upon the experience of receiving Christ in the Eucharist. In this way penance becomes a prayer in which the desire for earthly satisfaction is replaced with a desire for the love of God. Although our school’s Eucharistic Renewal will run throughout Lent, the Jesuit community, upon our return from the Mardi Gras break, will find many opportunities to explore their spiritual life through special activities. Please visit the Agenda of Activities which will open the Eucharistic Renewal at Jesuit High School. Check back to this page for updates and details about upcoming events during this Lenten experience.
