To give and not to count the cost... This line from St. Ignatius Prayer of Generosity, a prayer learned by each Blue Jay upon entering Jesuit High School, embodies the humble service that God calls each individual to perform. The Thanksgiving Drive is one of many opportunities for a Blue Jay to put this prayer into action. Through the Thanksgiving Drive and other service occasions, Blue Jays learn to be men of faith and men for others. Thanksgiving Drive 2009: Photo Galleries |

Lessons Remembered: Jesuit Alumni Return Home and Recommit to Helping and Serving Others All in the Family: Each year, Hank Ecuyer 51 and his son John 83, who returns to Jesuit from Florida, work the alumni aspect of the Thanksgiving Drive, a tradition instilled in both Blue Jays during their high school days.
| Tuesday before Thanksgiving is preparation day. Soon after the lunch hour has ended, Jesuit alumni take over the cafeteria and prepare the hundreds of baskets to be distributed to the needy throughout the metropolitan area. By nightfall, the turkeys arrive; the frozen ones and (pun intended) the Blue Jays from the Class of 1983, who purchase all of the turkeys for each Thanksgiving Drive basket. Jesuit's Thanksgiving Drive transcends generations; it is one of the many tangible bonds of the Blue Jay Spirit. Jesuit Alumni Thanksgiving Drive Photo Gallery |

Jays Brave the Elements to Help Neighbor Saturday mornings weather was far from friendly to construct a playground, but Blue Jays did not allow a sloppy field and a biting cold wind to stop them from assisting our neighbors, the Esperanza Charter School, from building a new playground. Here, sophomores Roger Bacon (left) and Paul Mickan assist one of the many adult volunteers.
