Senior Hobie Hotard has become the first Louisiana high school boy to win four consecutive singles’ titles in the LHSAA Division I state tennis tournament. Seniors Trevor Lew and James Sampognaro, the defending state doubles champions, fell short to Mandeville in finals on the morning of Saturday, May 4. Also playing in the tournament were freshman Jonathan Niehaus (who reached semifinals) in singles and junior Kevin Mickan with sophomore Gregory Suhor (semifinals) and juniors Jordan Lacoste with Andrew Tufts (quarterfinals) in doubles. All matches were played on the campus of the University of Louisiana-Monroe. Rain has delayed play each day of the tournament.
