Details About Donating to the PAG Drive

Marie and Kavin Hogan with their son, Reuben ’14
at PAG Sunday in 2009.

The purpose of the annual PAG drive is to raise funds for Jesuit’s operating budget. Tax-deductible donations assist with offsetting Jesuit’s operating expenses, thus bridging the gap between total operating income and expenditures.

Additionally, donations to the PAG help maintain affordable tuition which results in a more diverse student population, one of the hallmarks of a Jesuit education.

The chairman of the 2012 – 2013 PAG drive is Brian North ’83. Participation in the drive by Jesuit parents is paramount to its continued success year after year. Approximately 90% or more of Jesuit parents take part in the drive. More information about the drive is featured in the PAG Brochure.

A successful PAG drive ensures that Jesuit will always remain the school you and your son chose — the school that will change his life.

If you have questions about the PAG drive, please email pag@jesuitnola.org, or call (504) 483-3841.

Details About Donating to the LEF Drive

At the LEF spring phone drive in March 2010, this quintet from the Class of 2001 spent a busy two
hours contacting their classmates, renewing
connections, and seeking donations for this
important alumni annual campaign.
From left are Ricky Guttenberg, Dan Serio,
Todd Toranto, Nick Fraiche, and Danny Bourgeois.

The purpose of the annual LEF drive is to raise funds for Jesuit’s operating budget. Tax-deductible donations assist with offsetting Jesuit’s operating expenses, thus bridging the gap between total operating income and expenditures.

Additionally, donations to the LEF drive help maintain affordable tuition which results in a more diverse student population, one of the hallmarks of a Jesuit education. Donations from alumni helps keep Jesuit…Jesuit, the school that will have a positive influence in the lives of current and future students.

The chairman of the 2012-13 drive is Glen Gillen ’85. The 2012-13 LEF fall phone and email campaign is scheduled Tuesday, October 9, 2012 - Thursday, October 11, 2012 in St. Ignatius Hall. The spring campaign will be Monday, March 12, 2013 - March 14, 2013. Volunteers from each graduating class are needed to participate. Dinner is served at 5:30 PM each evening of the phone drive and contacting classmates begins at 6:30 PM. Note that these times are 1/2 hour earlier than in past drives.

If you have questions about the LEF drive, or would like to volunteer for the fall and/or spring phone campaigns, Sign-up Online, or email: lef@jesuitnola.org, or call (504) 483-3841. More information about this annual alumni drive can be found on the LEF Home Page.

Details about Donating to a Scholarship Fund

A reception in the Hall of Honors was held
to celebrate the fully endowed scholarship donated by the family of Jesuit alumnus
Dr. Jim Rodriguez ’68 (far right) in honor
of their mother, Maidee Daigle Rodriguez (center), who proudly displays a plaque commemorating the special occasion.

Contributions to Jesuit’s Scholarship Funds are gratefully accepted and are used to strengthen Jesuit’s endowment. Income earned from the endowment’s investments is primarily used for financial aid to the families of students whose parents cannot afford to pay all or part of the tuition. During the 2011 – 2012 school year, Jesuit provided more than $528,700 in financial aid to numerous families.

For those who wish to donate “In Memory of…” a relative, loved one, loved one, friend, or business associate, choose “Apply as a General Donation” in the drop-down menu on the Scholarships donation page.

Contributions may also be made to an already existing partial or fully endowed named scholarship. The names of the various scholarships are found in the drop-down menu located under  “Scholarship Information” on the main scholarships donation page.

Endowing a scholarship in the name of a loved one is a unique way to honor and remember the individual while, at the same time, giving a tax deductible gift to Jesuit High School. Handsome plaques recognizing fully endowed scholarships are on display in the Hall of Honors, located on the second floor of the school. Currently, a fully endowed scholarship is $60,000.

View a List of Endowed Scholarships and direct any questions to Tom Bagwill, director of Jesuit’s office of institutional advancement, at (504) 483-3841, or email: bagwill@jesuitnola.org.

Details about Donating to the POA Drive
(Non-Alumni Parents of Blue Jays Who Have Graduated)

Fr. McGinn with Richard and Laura Aguilar at the
annual crawfish party held annually in late April
to thank parents and alumni for their work
vounteering at various Jesuit events.

The purpose of the POA drive is to raise funds for Jesuit’s operating budget. Tax-deductible donations assist with offsetting Jesuit’s operating expenses, thus bridging the gap between total operating income and expenditures.

Additionally, donations to the POA drive help maintain affordable tuition which results in a more diverse student population, one of the hallmarks of a Jesuit education. Donations from parents of alumni help keep Jesuit…Jesuit, the school that will have a positive influence in the lives of current and future students.

As many parents already realize from their participation in the annual PAG drive when their sons were students, Jesuit was able to provide the experience of an economically diverse student body, which helped their Blue Jays grow into the men God planned them to become. Keeping Jesuit the school that it was when their sons attended means keeping Jesuit accessible to all qualified students. The generosity of parents of alumni enables Jesuit to successfully accomplish its mission.

If you have questions about the POA drive, please contact Tom Bagwill, director of Jesuit’s office of institutional advancement, at (504) 483-3817, or email: bagwill@jesuitnola.org.

Donating to the Class of 1962 Reunion Gift Fund

As we began meeting to plan our reunion’s events and remembering all those years, it was suggested that we give something special back to our school on the occasion of this 50th anniversary. The focus turned to the needs of the school, particularly the new Blue Jay athletic complex, Alumni Field at John Ryan Stadium.

Here is what we have in mind. Believe it or not, our senior year’s tuition was $225, a far cry from today’s $7,400. Therefore your reunion committee is asking for all of us in the Class of 1962 to consider a personal contribution of $225 towards our class’s gift to Jesuit High School. Of course, you may donate more. Our class’s contribution will be memorialized permanently within the athletic complex. That’s nice. But at the end of the day this is simply a token of what is in our hearts.

For information, email Logan Diano or Mat Grau.
