Retif Oil Wins 2010 First District TitleRetif's Slick 5-2 Win Sends Peake BMW Back for Service 2010 First District Legion Champions: Jesuit-based Retif Oil. Retif won Sunday afternoon’s game with solid pitching from starter Sal Maffei and timely hitting from the Retif line up. Retif went on to win the game, 5-2.
First District Legion Tournament: Retif Oil-Peake BMW Photo Gallery Brother Martin-based Peake BMW came out strong posting two runs in the top of the first inning, but Retif did not allow that to bother them, scratching back one run in the bottom half of the first frame. Retif then proceeded to post three runs in the second and another run in the third inning to earn a three-run lead that would eventually give the boys in blue a win. Great pitching by starter Sal Maffei and Brandon Shearman kept Peake BMW at bay. Although Peake had an excellent opportunity in the top of the sixth to score-- bases loaded with no outs-- Retif pitching and stingy defense did not give up a run. |
