Fishing Rodeo
Breton Sound Marina, Hopedale -- Saturday, June 28, 2008

Blue Jays of all ages gather for the weigh-in
festivities at Breton Sound Marina in Hopedale,
marking the culmination of the 2008 Fishing Rodeo.


Welcoming Blue Jay fishermen to the
rodeo check-in table are Letty Jane Clark

Denis ’82, whose 22-pound redfish just misses a trophy.


Fishing on the Dixie Flyer with classmate 
Nathan Abercrombie (who could not attend the weigh-in)
are Todd Naccari ’92, Marc Bonifacic ’92,
and Jonathan Weiler ’91. Bonifacic’s 6.25-pound speck
is about half a pound shy of setting a new rodeo record.

Stouder’s redfish took top honors in the largest fish
category. Team SSSI is an acronym for
Spots, Specks, & Suds, International.

and his son, Jacob ’10, and Corbin Becnel ’10
and his dad, Scott. Jacob’s red snapper took 1st place
in the offshore category while Corbin’s catfish won the
largest fish category.  



Ed Rapier ’76 and his daughter Corinne,
who entered a second place flounder
and a third place sheephead, and was
the lucky recipient of a door prize.



Enjoying the festivities are Stephanie Devenport
and her daughter Lisa.



Bro. Billy Dardis, S.J. ’58, who has piloted Jesuit’s
Fishing Rodeo for 16 years, makes sure that everyone
under 18-years-old receives a door prize.   



Adrian Colon ’59 rarely misses the rodeo.



Winners of the largest fish categories in their respective
divisions are Corbin Becnel ’10 and Ray Stouder ’97.



Cousins Will Quinlan and Colin Quinlan enjoy
helping out at the rodeo. Will is the son of
Jay Quinlan ’86 and Colin is the son
of Ryan Quinlan ’91.
