2009 Jesuit Alumni Golf Classic
Friday, June 12, 2009 -- Bayou Oaks Lakeside (formerly City Park North)

At the check-in table, Brian Kirn ’88 and Mark Dennis ’74 are greeted by a trio of smiling faces
from the alumni office, from left,
Krista Roeling, Michelle Tanner, and Logan Diano.

Fr. Anthony McGinn, S.J. gets in line for a grilled burger with Jimmy Holmes ’83
and his father-in-law, Emmett Smith ’55.

The Class of ’69 sent a trio of its best barbecue chefs to the tournament to grill several
hundred burgers and hots dogs for alumni golfers and their guests.
Proving they were up to the outdoor culinary task are
David Latham, Wayne Robichaux, and Wally Landry.

Steve Barbier ’72, Phil Mele ’69, Jesuit parent (and Fishing Rodeo chairman) Jimmy Commagere,
and David Barbier ’80

Michael Babin ’91, Brian Hughes ’93, Michael Escudier ’91, and J.P. Escudier ’95

Dave Bennett, found themselves on the edge of the woods on hole 9.

The Class of ’70 stays in the fairway: Rickey Brown, Thomas Boos,
Charles LaCour, and John Thiele.

Chris Webre ’87 and his dad, Lloyd Weber ’57, were joined by their two guests,
Byron Millet and his dad, Roland Millet.

The Class of ’04 was fronted by Stephen Colomb, Adam Plauchι,
Jason Litchfield, and Ryan Casanova.

Rick Schroeder ’76 put together a foursome that included his son Jason
and guests Dean Falgoust and Charlie Newell.

Victor Morales ’84 got some golf tips and an earful of Jesuit history from his partner,
Charlie Glueck, a 1940 Blue Jay graduate who turns 89-years-old in a few weeks.

Nick Hazard ’84, Duane DiMaggio ’84, Mike Rivas ’84, and Richard Slattery ’83

Ben Martinez ’72, Delo Breckenridge ’65 and his son Hugh Breckenridge ’04, and Stephen Foley ’04

Nobody won the set of Tour Burners (nor the Chevy Tahoe from Banner Chevrolet), but that
did not stop this foursome of Harry Vorhaben ’65 and his son Quinn Vorhaben ’96,
along with guests Al deBaroncelli and Chris Trahan, from taking their best shot at the prizes.

This trio played the par five third hole without putting as Emmett Smith ’55 showed his
son-in-law, Jimmy Holmes ’83, and Mark Rodi ’59, how it’s done. Smith hit a nice drive
and put his second shot adjacent to the green. Smith then holed his chip shot for an eagle three.

Playing in the Jesuit golf tournament is music to the ears of these Blue Jay Band parents --
Arthur Roussel, Wayne Adams, Bill Poynot, and David Williams.

1968 classmates Lenny Caruso and Pat Mooney joined 1983 classmates
Mike Varisco and Malcolm Schwarzenbach.

Cruice Brothers Cruise: Kevin ’81, Mike ’78, Bradley (a Rummel Raider), and Todd ’85

This foursome from ’74 is ecstatic after Dennis Muller (second from right) drops a 20-foot putt
on the second hole for a birdie. Thanking him are Billy Babin, Joe Giorlando, and Terry Billings.

At the 19th hole, ’59 classmates Bill Eastin and Jack Dardis savor the hot crawfish.

Tony Glorioso ’64 and Michael Touchy ’67 enjoy the post-tournament party.

Charlie Glueck ’40 played a full round of golf and afterwards
devoured an entire tray of crawfish.

Mike Cruice ’78 and brother Todd Cruice ’85

After claiming one of the many terrific doors prizes, Mike Varisco ’83 (left) tries to make a
quick exit, but not before classmate Malcolm Schwarzenbach says goodbye.
