Fr. Anthony McGinn, S.J., who is president of Jesuit High School, welcomes a group of parents and their sons at the start of a recent day tour of the school.  We recognize that many families have difficult choices to make and need more and better information about prospective high schools. The decision is often just as difficult for parents as it is for students. Some families will not be able to attend our Open House on Wednesday, November 11, 2009, to gather information to make an informed choice. And some families that do attend Open House may simply want to learn more about Jesuit.   Facts About Jesuit Admissions Jesuit does not offer prospective students what is typically called “Spend-A-Day” programs because these 3-4 hour visits tend to disrupt the daily academic environment for our students and our teachers. Instead, our admissions office offers morning tours of Jesuit. The tours accommodate those families who are unable to attend Open House, as well as families who attend Open House but desire a more personal and up-close look at our school. These tours are by appointment only, start at 7:30 a.m., and usually last no later than 9 a.m. During the tour, parents and their sons have the opportunity to see an unvarnished view of a typical morning at Jesuit and they are encouraged to ask questions about any aspect of student life, academics, co-curricular activities, sports, tuition, and the admissions process. To make arrangements for a morning tour, contact the Admissions Office at (504) 483-3936, or e-mail: admissions@jesuitnola.org. On the morning of the tour, parents and their sons may park in the yard or the lot next to the P.E. building on Banks Street (space permitting, of course). Enter the school from the Banks Street side (look for the blue awning) and tell our receptionist that you will be taking a tour of the school.
