Manresa Perfect Setting for Faculty Retreat

The faculty of Jesuit High School spent two days, Jan 15-16, on a silent retreat at Manresa. Father Nick Schiro, S.J. ’44 (first row, far right), who teaches theology at Jesuit High School, served as retreat master and gave a series of excellent talks designed to increase self-reflection, spirituality, and the awareness of Christ in our lives. The faculty of Jesuit High School thank Fr. Schiro for his time and for making this silent retreat a most meaningful experience.

Class of 2007 Has 32 National Merit Semi-finalists

The National Merit Semi-finalists from the Class of 2007

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) recognized 32 seniors from Jesuit High School as semi-finalists in the annual Merit Scholarship Competition. No other high school in Louisiana boasted as many semi-finalists as these 32 seniors from the Class of 2007.

This year’s selection index was 209. However, our honorees from the Class of 2007 had a mean score of 222, a reflection of the academic excellence for which Jesuit is traditionally renowned. In addition to our 32 National Merit Semi-finalists, Jesuit had one National Achievement Semi-finalist and one National Hispanic Scholar.

The faculty and administration of Jesuit High School extend their congratulations to each student on his significant achievement.
