Jesuit High School utilizes a variety of social media sites to inform and interact with the school community. Social media accounts are used as secondary online information sources. School-sponsored social media sites do not take place of Jesuit’s website, the school’s primary web presence. Alumni-Sponsored Social Media

Jesuit alumni may sponsor their own class groups and pages, with or without the assistance of the alumni and communications staff (part of the Office of Institutional Advancement). Alumni-sponsored social media are not administered by the school. Social Media Usage Policy

Jesuit High School of New Orleans encourages social media users to interact with each other in a respectful and meaningful way on the Jesuit wall and within the comment threads of Jesuit content. Comments posted also do not in any way reflect the opinions or policies of the school.

When interacting with any of Jesuit-sponsored social media, please keep in mind that your name and photo appear next to your comments and are publicly visible to the thousands of visitors to sites. Furthermore, when interacting with school-sponsored social media, students should abide by the computer use policies as detailed in the Bulletin.

Jesuit reserves the right at its sole discretion, but assumes no obligation, to screen and remove any content it deems inappropriate. This includes content that is harassing, abusive, discriminatory, obscene, fraudulent, defamatory, threatening, illegal, hostile, or coercive or in any other way violates the rights of others. We also do not permit content whose primary purpose is to sell a product, a service, or other such practices, nor to promote political or other ventures. We also reserve the right to remove posts containing any and all links. Jesuit reserves the right to delete or block violators of this policy from posting to official Jesuit sites.

By posting a comment or material to official Jesuit sites, users give Jesuit the right and license to use the provided content for any purpose in any form on any media.

Posted comments and messages are also subject to each media site’s terms of use and code of conduct. Social media sites encourage all users to report abusive content.

Jesuit reserves the right to amend this policy at any time.
