Today is Thursday, September 2, 2010

Regular Order, Day 2

 

 

·         Today is the final day to address any scheduling issues.  Any student with scheduling concerns must see Mr. Kernion in room 239 by the end of the school day.

·         Tomorrow we celebrate the Mass of the Holy Spirit.  Everyone is required to wear a coat and tie tomorrow.  You may wear a suit or you may wear a dress coat and khaki pants.  You must wear dress shoes or schools shoes; no other type of shoe is authorized.  You must also be in compliance with all grooming standards. 

·         The varsity football team will play at Lakeshore High School in Mandeville tomorrow night in the season opener with kickoff slated for 7:00 p.m.  All tickets are priced at $7 each and must be purchased at the gate.  Student IDs and season tickets will not be accepted at the gate for the non-district contest.

·         Anyone interested in joining the Cycling Club for a city ride tomorrow after Mass should see Mr. Prados in Room 114.

·         A reminder for all those who signed up for the tennis team tryout tournament to have all necessary physical and LHSAA papers in to Coach Hernandez by Tuesday morning or you will not be allowed to participate in the tournamaent.

·         Students interested in participating in Welcome Week's "Chemical Cleanup" should meet today during ten minute break in the Student Council office, Room 113.

·         The Columbian Squires will meet today during the first half of lunch on the steps to the Chapel of North American Martyrs.

·         The triathlon club will meet today during the first half of lunch in room 304.  All those who intend to be members of triathlon teams should also be present. 

·         The Sailing Club will meet today in 2nd half of lunch in room 401. New members are welcome.

·         The Philelectic Society is gathering after Mass of the Holy Spirit for a workday.  All Phils and interested actors and techs are invited.  Lunch and dinner will be provided to those who work.

·         Seniors providing their own family rings for Ring Mass should turn them in to Mr. Prados in the Student Activities Office by tomorrow.

·         Seniors: Any high achieving student-athlete or student-leader who is interested in attending Davidson College in North Carolina should see his college counselor in the Guidance Office about scholarship opportunities.

·         Seniors: A representative from LSU-Baton Rouge will be on campus today during lunch in Room 132.

Faculty Meeting Order, Day 3

 

 

·         Today’s Welcome Week activity is the Big Brother/Little Brother lunch sponsored by the Alumni Association and the Office of Institutional Advancement.  Big Brothers and Little Brothers should meet in the courtyard before moving to the back field for pasta jambalaya.

·         Friday we celebrate the Mass of the Holy Spirit.  Everyone is required to wear a coat and tie on Friday.  You may wear a suit or you may wear a dress coat and khaki pants.  You must wear dress shoes or schools shoes; no other type of shoe is authorized.  You must also be in compliance with all grooming standards.

·         The Chorus will rehearse at first half of lunch today and after school tomorrow.

·         The Classic Rock Club will hold an organizational meeting for all new and returning members today during the second half of lunch in Room 210.

·         The Spirit Club will meet today during the 2nd half of lunch in Room 329.

·         The Foosball Club will meet today during the second half of lunch in room 334.

·         The Acoustic Guitar Club will meet today during the second half of lunch in room 334.

·         The Columbian Squires will meet tomorrow during the first half of lunch on the steps to the Chapel of North American Martyrs.

·         Senior Ring Mass is scheduled for Saturday, September 11 beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the North American Martyrs.  Seniors must attend the mass in order to receive the Senior Ring Holiday on Monday, September 13.  A letter has been sent home to parents explaining the details for the event, including the limitation that each senior can only have two adults present at the Ring Mass.  Ring Mass tickets will be distributed to seniors at Ring Mass Rehearsal on Wednesday, September 8.

·         Seniors providing their own family rings for Ring Mass should turn them in to Mr. Prados in the Student Activities Office by the end of this week.

 

Top's Tip of the Day – When you return from being absent, you must report to the discipline office with a note signed by a parent or guardian prior to going to homeroom or class.

Regular Order, Day 4

 

 

·         Today’s Welcome Week lunchtime activity is Pelican Pandemonium.

·         Friday we celebrate the Mass of the Holy Spirit.  Everyone is required to wear a coat and tie on Friday.  You may wear a suit or you may wear a dress coat and khaki pants.  You must wear dress shoes or schools shoes; no other type of shoe is authorized.  You must also be in compliance with all grooming standards. 

·         The varsity football team will play at Lakeshore High School in Mandeville on Friday night in the season opener with kickoff slated for 7:00 p.m.  All tickets are priced at $7 each and must be purchased at the gate.  Student IDs and season tickets will not be accepted at the gate for the non-district contest.

·         The Senior CLC will meet tomorrow during the first half of lunch in the Small Chapel.

·         Any new 8th or 9th grader interested in trying out for the Debate Team should report to Room 120 after school today for additional information.

·         The Classic Rock Club will hold an organizational meeting for all new and returning members tomorrow during the second half of lunch in Room 210.

·         The tennis tryout tournament will be begin on Wednesday, September 8 at
4 pm at the UNO tennis courts.  All participants must have their physical exam papers completed and turned into Coach Hernandez before then.  Draws will be given out the day before.

Regular Order, Day 5

 

 

·         Students who are interested in free or reduced lunch should pick up a form in the cafeteria.

·         Today is the last day to activate computer accounts without paying a late activation fee.  All students who have not activated their computer account this year must come to the computer lab at lunch.

·         Students interested in participating in Student Council's Welcome Week events should meet at ten minute break in the student council office, room 113.

·         Any new 8th or 9th grader interested in trying out for the Debate Team should report to Room 120 after school today or tomorrow for additional information.

·         Jazz Band has been cancelled this afternoon. Rehearsals will resume next week.

·         Students trying out for the Bowling Team are reminded that tryouts are today at 4:00.  You must be signed up to try out.  See Mr. Wyss if you have questions.

·         Seniors providing their own family rings for Ring Mass should turn them in to Mr. Prados in the Student Activities Office by the end of this week.
