After a long weekend celebrating the Saints’ appearance and win in Super Bowl XLIV, the Jays return to a four day work week with a number of modifications to the school calendar. Parents and students should be aware of the following: 1. Classes resume on Tuesday, February 9     (Day 6). The warning bell will ring at     7:45 AM. School will dismiss at 3 PM. 2. Parent-Teacher Conferences scheduled for     Tuesday, February 9 have been moved to     Wednesday, February 10. School will     dismiss at 2 PM on Wednesday. The teacher     conferences will begin at 4 PM and end at     6 PM. (Please note the time change.) 3. To accommodate for the Saints’ parade,        the Jesuit - Br. Martin basketball game time     on Tuesday at Br. Martin has been moved to      3:01 PM.

Super Bowl, and Jays Collect on Bet with Brebeuf Braves

Jesuit principal Mike Giambelluca, backed by a host of Blue Jays, participates in a Friday afternoon teleconference Super Bowl wager with the principal and students of Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory in Indianapolis. According to terms of the bet, the Saints’ victory means that Brebeuf’s principal must wear a Saints jersey for one day and display a Jesuit t-shirt in a prominent place in the school. Additionally, Brebeuf will soon be displaying a Saints flag for one week in a prominent location so that it will be visible to all students and faculty. Blue Jays Shut Out the West Jeff Buccaneers, 6-0, to Advance in LHSAA Soccer Playoffs              Junior Joey LeVenia (29) takes advantage of a Buccaneer error to score                 this goal for Jesuit. The Jays cruise to a 6-0 win on Friday afternoon                           to advance to the second round of the LHSAA playoffs. Blue Jays Cruise to 67-41 Win Over the Raiders to Open the Second Round of District Play Senior Brady Hadden (22) flies to the basket to score two points for the Jays during Friday night's second round opening game against the Rummel Raiders. The first district meeting at Rummel ended in a triple overtime win for the Jays. In the second game, Jesuit played a complete game which lead to the Jays to dominate the young Raider squad. Four of Jesuit's players finished the night in double digits: Seniors Josh Dudley with 14 points, Colby Kiefer with 12 points, Brady Hadden with 11 points, and Dominick Scelfo with 10 points.
