from ages 5 to 13 at the Jesuit Kids Wrestling Camp.

Still pouring concrete!  In spite of the afternoon rains,the work in the school yard
is progressing  The Jesuit yard is off limits until the resurfacing project
is completed. If all goes as scheduled, the yard will be back in service
before the start of the new school year.

with senior Jimmy Sobotie. Operation Upgrade is a
Jesuit summer program that challenges middle school students
throughout the metropolitan area to sharpen their critical thinking skills.

offered an Advanced Granby Wrestling Camp to interested athletes

Last month, the Jesuit rugby team traveled to Utah to compete
for the national rugby title. The Jays played hard, exemplified by
junior Ian Wisecarver run in the above picture; however,
the team came up short in their title quest.

year luncheon in the Student Commons. Today, Jayson recognizes
this years "veteran crew also honored at yesterdays gathering (from the left):

and Dr. Thomas Spitzfaden, 35 years.

At graduation rehearsal Thursday morning, prefect of discipline Top Abshire was
on the prowl for long hair, scalping those seniors whose heads sported
what appeared to be mops.  Several seniors were told to visit a barber or
risk not walking across stage Thursday night at the Pontchartrain Center.

this past weekend in the regional rugby tournament. The Blue Jays move on
to the Rugby National Championship Tournament in Utah later this month.

at the Worldwide Spirit Associations Cheerleader Competition
 earlier this school year. The Blue Jays took home the championship trophy 
from this prestigious event.

A promise is a promise... early in the season and in a moment of
temporary insanity, Head Track Coach Chris LaMothe promised
his athletes he would let them shave his head if they won the district title.
The track team won their title; and during the lunch period, 
senior Brad Leonhard had the honor Monday  to start the shaving.  
A promise made is now a promise fulfilled.

prefect of discipline, which is why pre-freshman Jeffrey Duplantier
seems sheepish walking alongside Top Abshire.

Thursday’s lunch time activity-- “Beat Box Battle”-- in the Traditions Courtyard
pitted senior Josh Owens against Mr. Jason Giaccone from the music department. 
By the expression on Josh’s face, it appears Josh does not appreciate
Mr. Giaccone’s stylistic interpretations of the latest “music.”

When it comes to pyramids, the great Egyptian builders will have
a tough time matching the geometric skills these juniors displayed
on Will Clark Field at lunch Wednesday afternoon. The base of this
impressive structure consists of (from the left) Christian Trinchard,
Brad Rouen, T.J. Faucheaux, and Joe Cobena. The next level is
Craig Raymond, Jake Miranda, and Boe Reboul. Next, Michael Gruezke
and Stephen Kampen support the cap of the pyramid, Andy Reboul.

The Faculty-Senior Football Game: Here's a sweet memory for the faculty
and, in particular, for Mr. Jeremy Reuther, who leaps and catches the ball
to the amazement of the players, crowd, and himself. The faculty crushed
the seniors in this game that took place in December 2006,
but the seniors even the score later in the faculty-senior basketball game.
The third and deciding athletic contest-- dodgeball-- has yet to be scheduled.

Although the Bazaar concluded Sunday, these Blue Jays found a reason to stick around
until Monday -- the numbers were hot at the "Instant Bingo booth, which reportedly
caused bursitis and inflammation in the elbows of several budding risk-takers.
It’s just a good thing they did not cross that police line.

Bucktown All-Stars, demonstrates one of the tactics of avoiding PH
to pre-freshmen Gregory Schwing and Mac Bulloch -- make sure your shoes are tied.
The
Bucktown All-Stars was the featured band at Sunday's Bazaar.
In addition to Lundgren, the band features two other Blue Jays --
Doug Kinler ’88, who plays nice riffs on rhythm guitar, and Ryan Thibodaux ’92,
who blows a mean trumpet.
