of touch football in wet, foggy Traditions Courtyard. If this evening’s

will start up a water polo match on Banks Street!

   A Member of the Class of 2027 Meets the Jays...


After winning the CYO Tournament this past Saturday evening, a few of Jesuit’s
varsity basketball players celebrate the victory with new mom Meg Jennings,
wife of Jesuit Head Basketball Coach Chris Jennings and Jesuit’s fine arts
teacher, and her son Christopher Paul Jennings, II. The team members
pictured above-- seniors Colby Kiefer (left), Brady Hadden, Dominick Scelfo,
junior Casey Obermeyer, senior Josh Dudley, and junior Nicky Varisco--
along with the rest of the varsity squad have nicknamed the newest
Jennings: CP2. Check out CP2 on the Jesuit hardwood
between the years 2022 and 2027!

   Is Your Refrigerator Running?


No, Mrs. Louque is not contributing to the delinquency of these Blue Jays by
supervising prank phone calls. Rather, pre-freshmen Jack Hebert (on the phone)
and Christopher Dupre are contacting families who requested baskets
from the upcoming Thanksgiving Drive. Homerooms call
their families in advance to make sure someone is
home when the baskets are delivered a week
from this coming Wednesday.

in preparation for the opening round of the LHSAA football playoffs.
Jesuit hosts Airline High at Tad Gormley Stadium on Friday night.

   Mix It Up Tuesday...


Tuesday, Blue Jays participated in the annual National Mix It Up at Lunch Day.
Mix It Up Day is a program intended to create opportunities for students
to become aware of and to break down patterns of social self-segregation.
Jesuit has taken this program a step further by creating difficulties
for individuals who have never experienced hardships. By creating
these challenges, students, through first-hand experience, may
reflect and empathize with those who have unjustly been denied
opportunities. Above, Jesuit’s Disciplinarian Top Abshire

On Friday during the lunch period, seniors meet with Mrs. Juhas to begin planning
for the December Kairos retreat at Rosaryville. The Kairos retreat, a three-day
senior directed retreat, is opened to juniors looking to enhance their faith-life.

   Save the Last Dance for Me...


Homecoming 2009 presented the Jesuit community with a wide variety of activities--
the lunch-time events, Back to Banks, the football game, Homecoming Mass and
Brunch.  However, one more activity remains before closing the book on a
successful Homecoming 2009: The Homecoming Dance. Above, the 2009
Homecoming Court continues to practice their special routine for
the school’s dance slated for Saturday, November 14 in the
St. Charles Room at the Louisiana Superdome.

Blue Jays in Mrs. DeLatte’s Spanish III honors class work diligently to complete
their storyboards before time has run out. Each group must finish its work
about a special celebration (Christmas, a wedding, etc.) and explain in

National Merit Finalists. Who knows...perhaps a Blue Jay
will earn the elusive 240, a perfect score...

   Early Birds Show Off Homecoming Banner...


Blue Jays like sophomores Michael Ceraso (left) and Stephen Helmstetter have begun
to work on their homecoming banners this week to participate in the annual
student council homeroom banner competition. Homerooms have begun
to work on their banners this week since exams are scheduled next week.
To be consider for the competition, all homerooms must submit
their entries by Thursday, October 15.
