Super Bowl XLIV
Jesuit and Brebeuf Bet the Limit
St. Ignatius Hall — Friday, February 5, 2010

As Sharon Hewlett, who is Jesuit’s technology coordinator, prepares to “mike” principal
Mike Giambelluca, computer studies teacher Dan Wagner checks out the
instant replay cameras to ensure all are in working order in the
event a referee’s call is contested by one of the schools.
Waving their technology wands with precision and know how,
computer gurus Mrs. Hewlett and Mr. Wagner set up
the teleconference between Jesuit and Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory.

Blue Jays stampede into St. Ignatius Hall during their lunch hour to witness the Super Bowl wager
between the principals of Jesuit and Brebeuf in Indianapolis.

The only moments of solemn silence occur during the prayer to St. Ignatius.

Jesuit principal Mike Giambelluca smiles as a panel of math teachers
calculates the odds of winning this bet.

Blue Jays leave their book bags in the hallway leading to the entrance to St. Ignatius Hall.

Blue Jays were able to see and hear the live teleconference which was also being
broadcast from the Brebeuf Braves’ gym.

Mr. Giambelluca patiently waits to place his side of the wager,
but enthusiastic Blue Jays go crazy as a Brebeuf student is shown wearing a Saints jersey.

Blue Jays react to one aspect of Mr. Giambelluca’s bet with Brebeuf principal LaTonya Turner that
after the Saints defeat the Colts in Super Bowl XLIV, Brebeuf’s female cheerleaders
will visit Jesuit High School.

According to terms of the bet, when the Saints win, Ms. Turner must wear a Saints jersey for
one day and display a Jesuit t-shirt in a prominent place in the school. Additionally,
Brebeuf will display a Saints flag for one week in a prominent location
so that it will be visible for all students and faculty.

Senior Jack Zeringue and all the other Blue Jays are confident
that the Saints and Jesuit will be victorious.

A show of hands: Saints are number one!

Following the teleconference, Blue Jays head back to their classrooms for the final
two classes of the day before the start of a super three-day weekend.
