Track the Rise of the Mississippi River

Over the next two weeks, the State of Louisiana and the City of New Orleans will experience a historical flood of the Mississippi River.

With history literally flowing past our homes, the Jesuit web site will provide our web visitors the ability to track this historic flood through its crest at New Orleans at 17 feet.*

Flood Stage at New Orleans is 17 feet; however, river levees in the metropolitan area are raised to 20 feet.

* Flood level based on the operation of both the Bonne Carre Spillway and the Morganza Spillway
   (north of Baton Rouge).
