APPLICATION DAY INFORMATION

           APPLICATION DAY AND ACTIVITIES 

           Application Day at Jesuit High School will be Saturday, January 12, 2008.  All applicants must be present. Application Day activities will involve the following: 

            a.            attendance check (roll call) of students applying to Jesuit High School;

            b.            verification of receipt of appropriate records and/or a notification of the fact that

                           essential items are still missing;

            c.            administration of the High School Placement Test (HSPT).

Jesuit High School's Alumni Association invites parents of applicants to have coffee and pastries in the school cafeteria from 7:30 -11:30 a.m.  Parking is available in the schoolyard. 

           WHERE TO REPORT 

            On Application Day, you may enter Jesuit High School through the yard using the doors to the Student Commons.  The schoolyard is accessed at the rear of the school from Banks Street at the corner of Solomon Street.  You may also enter through the main entrance on Carrollton Avenue.  Upon arrival, students must report to the Resource Center (across the hall from Rooms 221 and 222).  There will be two alphabetical listings of applicants:  one for those applying to eighth grade and one for those applying to ninth grade.  Find your name, next to which will be the number of the classroom to which you should report. (This information may also be found in the mailing you received over the Christmas holidays.) 

            Guides will be available to show you where to find that classroom.

           WHEN TO REPORT 

            Applicants must report to their assigned classrooms no later than 7:45 a.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2008.  Parents are asked to drop their sons off in the schoolyard before 7:45 a.m.; they may return to pick them up at 12:00 noon.

           WHAT TO BRING/EXPECT

            Please bring two (2) sharpened No. 2 (soft lead) pencils with erasers.  Do not bring calculators.  Casual attire is appropriate.  In addition to the High School Placement Test, applicants will be asked to write brief responses to a few questions.

  Letters of acceptance or refusal will be mailed on Friday, February 29, 2008.
