Application Day at Jesuit High School will be Saturday, January 9, 2010. All applicants must be present. Application Day activities will involve the following:
· attendance check (roll call) of students applying to Jesuit High School;
· verification of receipt of appropriate records and/or a notification of the fact that essential items are still missing;
· administration of the High School Placement Test (HSPT).
Where to Report
Applicants may enter Jesuit High School through the yard using the doors to the Student Commons. The school yard is accessed at the rear of the school from Banks Street at the corner of Solomon Street. Applicants may also use the main entrance on Carrollton Avenue.
Upon arrival, students must report to the Resource Center (across the hall from Rooms 221 and 222, and directly across from the Carrollton Avenue entrance).
There will be two alphabetical listings of applicants: one for those applying to eighth grade and one for those applying to ninth grade. Names will have classroom numbers next to them and applicants should proceed to the appropriate classroom. There will be Blue Jay Guides who will be available to help direct applicants to the correct classroom.
When to Report
Applicants must report to their assigned classrooms no later than 7:45 a.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2010. Parents are asked to drop their sons off either in the school yard or at the Carrollton entrance before 7:45 a.m. Parents may return to pick them up at 12:00 noon.
Jesuit High School’s Alumni Association invites parents of applicants to have
coffee and pastries anytime from 7:30 -11:30 a.m in the Student Commons. Parking is available in the school yard.
What to Bring & What to Expect
Applicants should bring two (2) sharpened No. 2 (soft lead) pencils with erasers. Do not bring calculators. In addition to the High School Placement Test, applicants will be asked to write brief responses to a few questions.
Casual attire is appropriate.
Letters informing families of the status of their son's application are placed in the mail
on Tuesday, February 9, 2010.
