Wrestling Falls to Holy Cross, On to LA Classic

The Jesuit High School (JHS) wrestling team took a tough loss to the Tigers of Holy Cross in its district-opening dual on Wednesday, Jan. 15. It was the first of three dual meets to be held in the Gayle & Tom Benson Arena for the 2020 district wrestling season. Before the next dual against the defending state champions of Brother Martin, the Blue Jays will compete in the 47th Louisiana Classic Tournament at the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales, La.

Junior Luke Battaglia and team captain Charlie Cyrus look to take advantage of their No. 2 seeds for the LA Classic. Battaglia and Cyrus joined Yates Hoffman as the three bright spots for Jesuit in the Holy Cross dual, with Battaglia earning a win by decision and his teammates earning wins by fall.
