The road to the state golf tournament has begun for Jesuit High School (JHS).

The Blue Jays played their first 9-hole match of the spring season Tuesday against the Brother Martin (BM) Crusaders at English Turn. Team 1 defeated Br. Martin with a score of 161 to the Crusaders’ 174. Team 2 tied BM’s first team, 174-174. Freshman newcomer Taylor Boasberg led the way for Team 1 with a two-over round of 38. Junior Andrew Barreca led Team 2 and all scorers with a one-over 37. Freshman Morgan Hebert, also a first-year player, controlled his nerves on the final hole to make a knee-knocker putt that prevented JHS Team 2 from losing by a stroke.

Then on Thursday, March 14, the Jays returned to English Turn and survived Holy Cross by turning in four 42’s and a one-over 37, shot by Boasberg.
