Jesuit Presents Its 2018-2019 Homecoming Court

Jesuit’s 2018-2019 Homecoming Court

The Student Council proudly presented the 2018-2019 Homecoming Court during halftime at Friday night’s football game against Destrehan. The Court was formally greeted on the field at Tad Gormley Stadium by Jesuit’s Jayettes, the MCJROTC’s Color Guard, and accompanied by music from the Blue Jay Marching Band.

This year’s freshmen couple is Mr. Jack Wangler and Ms. Jaiden DeGeorge. Jack is a member of the Paintball and Movie Critics Club. Jaiden is a freshman at Cabrini High School where she is a member of the bowling team, banner club, and Students Against Drugs & Alcohol.

This year’s first senior couple is Mr. Max Bond and Ms. Quinn Nugent. Max is an aide on Student Council’s Executive Board and is also a member of the National Honor Society and Peer Support. He would like to pursue a career in psychiatry. Quinn is a senior at Mount Carmel Academy where she is a member of the varsity track team, student government, and the Christian Leadership Club. She wants to pursue a career in dentistry.   

The second senior couple is Mr. Sal DeMatteo and Ms. Grace Schaumburg. He would like to study law at LSU, Tulane, or Loyola New Orleans. Grace is a senior at Dominican High School where she is a member of the National Honor Society and English Honor Society. She is also Jesuit’s cheerleading captain. Grace would also like to attend LSU or Loyola New Orleans Law School.  

The third senior couple is Mr. Marc Dougherty and Ms. Elizabeth Scaffidi. Escorting Ms. Scaffidi was senior Chris Scamardo. Marc plays on the varsity football team and is secretary for the Student Council Executive Board. He also plays baseball and wrestles for Jesuit. Marc plans to pursue a career in dentistry. Elizabeth is a senior at Dominican High School where she is a member of the National Honor Society, English Honor Society, Pro-Life Club, yearbook committee, Student Ambassador Club, student council, and French Club. She is also the captain of the Jayettes. Elizabeth plans to study medicine at the University of Mississippi.

The fourth senior couple is Mr. Luke Eccles and Ms. Virginia Babin. At Jesuit, Luke is a member of the varsity wrestling and baseball teams. He is also a member of National and Spanish Honor Societies, Sodality, and Pro-Life Club. Luke intends to study finance and business administration. Virginia is a senior at Dominican High School, where she is captain of the Debs and is also a member of the Spanish Honor Society. Virginia also coaches the Christian Brothers Dance Team. She plans to study finance in college.  

This year’s fifth senior couple is Mr. Robert McMahon and Ms. Hannah Deichmann. Escorting Ms. Deichmann was senior Reese Johnson. Robert is a member of the varsity football, basketball, and track teams, and the National Honor Society. He plans to attend the University of Mississippi and study accounting. Hannah is a junior at Mount Carmel Academy, where she participates in Mount Carmel Against Destructive Decisions. She is also a Jesuit Jayette. Hannah would like to attend medical school and one day become a dermatologist.

This year’s sixth senior couple is Mr. Michael Schmidt and Ms. Dina Alawamleh. Escorting Ms. Alawamleh was senior Thomas Calogne. At Jesuit, Michael is a member of the varsity football and lacrosse teams, National and Spanish Honor Societies, Sodality, Pro-Life Club, campus ministry, and Peer Support. Dina is a senior at Dominican High School, where she is a member of Pro-Life Club and Mu Alpha Theta while serving on the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, and English Honor Society. Dina is also the captain of the Jayettes. She plans to pursue Louisiana State University and study medicine.

The Senior Maid who was elected by the senior class as 2018-2019 Jesuit Homecoming Queen is Ms. Quinn Nugent.

Mr. Max Bond stands beside Ms. Quinn Nugent after she is crowned by Fr. Christopher Fronk, S.J., as Homecoming Queen.
