In their tenth match of the season, Blue Jay bowlers fell to the Holy Cross Tigers. The match took place on Monday, March 6, at All Star Lanes in Kenner.

In a match that was ultimately decided by 41 total pins, the Blue Jays put up a tough fight, but just couldn’t get ahead on the lanes. The Tigers took game one 5-3, edging out the Jays by only 17 pins. In game two, the Tigers extended that lead with a score of 6-2. Up by just 23 pins heading into the third and final game, the Blue Jays rallied with four bowlers out of six outscoring their opponents; despite the strong effort, the Tigers tallied more pins at the end of the lanes, snagging — by a hair — game three’s two points for team total and then winning three extra bonus points for overall pin count. The final score stood in Holy Cross’s favor at 18-9.

Of note, sophomore Adam Francis led the team with a 561 series. Juniors Trent Greco and Gerard Miller bowled a 551 and 547 series, respectively. Junior Alex Barron bowled a 206 game for a total series of 523, while junior Mason French bowled a 515 series.

The Blue Jays (5-5) next face Pearl River on Thursday, March 9, at All Star Lanes in Kenner.
