Ben Franklin Math Tournament – Saturday, Oct. 29

Twenty-six Blue Jays represented Jesuit Mu Alpha Theta and Chi Alpha Mu in the Ben Franklin Math Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 29. Jesuit students earned individual and team awards in every subject. Competing against 13 other schools, Jesuit took home the first place overall sweepstakes trophy.

Individual honors were earned in the following categories:

Algebra I Brett Steele 3rd
Geometry Milan Mardia 2nd
Geometry Dylan Sellars Honorable Mention
Algebra II Peter James 2nd
Advanced Math (Analysis) Michael Farrugia 3rd
Calculus BC Christian Gonzalez Honorable Mention

Chi Alpha Mu Middle School Math Tournament

On Wednesday, Sept. 14, five Jesuit pre-freshmen members of Chi Alpha Mu participated in a Middle School Math Tournament hosted by Brother Martin and Ursuline Academy. All walked away as winners. Kohlmann Moore was the first door prize winner while Brett Steele’s math relay team placed first. The team of Si Holmes, Benjamin Mathieu, and Garrison Trahant placed 3rd in the team Algebra I test and Garrison also placed first in the individual Algebra I test. Everyone had a wonderful time and is looking forward to the next chance to represent Jesuit.
