After meeting each other in classrooms, the soon-to-be Jesuit students and their veteran chaperones moved to the auditorium for a presentation, slide show, and video.

In a brief address, admissions director Bret Hanemann ’85 told the members of the Classes of 2020 and 2021 that each one had earned their spots at Jesuit. Then 2016-2017 student council president William Fine and executive aide Jandon Briscoe used a slide show to introduce the Little Brothers to the history and tradition of the school. In addition, a video gave the students a glimpse of Blue Jay Spirit, something administrators will encourage them to embrace and nurture.

After the auditorium presentations, Big Brothers and Little Brothers participated in a scavenger hunt that helped the newest Jays gain an appreciation of not only Jesuit’s history and tradition but also the campus layout.

The two-hour program concluded with hamburgers, chips, cookies, and soft drinks in the Traditions Courtyard.

Little Brothers can count on their Big Brothers to help them as they begin their Jesuit careers in August. Big Brothers will help their Little Brothers with everything from Book Day to how to get involved in co-curriculars to finding a classroom or the cafeteria.
