Blue Jays Win 19 Awards at 2016 State Rally

Blue Jays enjoyed another solid performance in the 2016 State Rally held on LSU’s campus in Baton Rouge. This year, two students won overall in literary events and 15 more placed in the top of their events for Division I. In addition, two students earned superior ratings in open foreign language events. The Louisiana High School Rally Association (LHSRA) will award medals and certificates to students who win first, second, or third place in literary events and to students who earn superior or excellent ratings in open events.

Jesuit competitors earned the following distinctions:

Jesuit sent 28 students overall to compete in the state rally’s literary and open events in foreign languages. To participate in the state competition, students either qualified by finishing in the top five in a literary event at the District Literary Rally or were chosen by the academic department to represent the school in open foreign language events. Each student may test in no more than one State Rally Literary Event.

Over a quarter of a million Louisiana high school students take part in ten district rallies throughout the state with more than 6,000 district winners advancing to the State Rally held at Louisiana State University.
