With just days to go until the annual Blue Jay Bazaar, the organizing committee has announced the day’s schedule of events.

On Saturday, March 19, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., thousands of Blue Jays, families, and friends will flock to the Mid-City campus to “Let the Blue Times Roll” and enjoy plenty of fun, food, refreshments, entertainment, and Blue Jay Spirit. Admission is free to the Bazaar, which features games, food booths, raffles, and live music from Mia Kylie Band, Midnight Horizon, Faith in the Music, The Medics, and the headliner, The Rockenbraughs, on stage from 6-9 p.m. Tell your friends to join you at the #BlueJayBazaar.

The Medics

The Medics is a three piece band — guitar, bass, drums. The group plays classic rock hits by such artists as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Cream, ZZ Top, The Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin, and assorted hits from the ’60s and ’70s.

The Rockenbraughs

The Rockenbraughs is a group of musicians from Metairie, Louisiana. Their live performances have the feel of a party, not a concert. They enjoy performing the music everyone loves for singalongs and dancing.

1:15 – 2:15 p.m.

Midnight Horizon

Comprised of several Jesuit High School students, Midnight Horizon plays a mixture of rock, blues, oldies, and current radio favorites.

4:00 p.m. &  9:30 p.m.

Masses

(Music will quiet during Mass times.)

Items Still Needed

Jesuit still needs several items for booths at the Bazaar. Please remember to drop off your donations of frozen foods, desserts for the Sweet Shop, 2 liter drinks, empty cans, and items for the liquor raffle and parade of prizes by Friday, March 18. Mass at the Bazaar

Two Masses will be celebrated (at 4 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.) in the Chapel of the North American Martyrs.

Grand Raffle drawing for $5,000 will take place at 8 p.m.

Tickets for the Blue Jay Bazaar Grand Raffle have been distributed and are now on sale. The deadline for all salesman awards is 3 p.m. on Friday, March 18. Tickets may continue to be turned in through the Bazaar day for the holiday incentive, but they will not count toward the salesman awards.

Specialty Item Auctions & Raffle

Several new items will be raffled or auctioned off at the Parade of Prizes Booth. A brand new Schwinn’s Signature Corvette Cruiser in a Jayson-approved cobalt blue (donated by Le Jouet) will be raffled at the at 7:30 p.m. Check out the auction board for a chance to win great prizes including two (2) fishing excursions to Lafitte or Venice (donated by Metro Boating) or a McAlister’s catered event for 20. The auction boards begin to close at 5:00 p.m.

Booths & Activities

Join Blue Jays for fun in the your favorite booths and activities: Rock Wall, Dunking Booth, Pillow Bash, Rodeo Bull, food tent, sweet shop,  giant inflatables, Rock Climbing Wall, Blue Jay Shop, Blue Jay Boutique filled with crafts, instant bingo, and much more!

Students will be taking part in activities throughout the day as well. Juniors will play 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament (in the Birdcage) at 10 a.m. Seniors will take on the faculty in a football rematch in the back of Will Clark field at 1:30 p.m. And all Blue Jays will participate in a Tug-of-War at noon in Will Clark Field and a video game tournament in the Student Commons at 5:00 p.m. Check the daily announcements for sign-up details.

Dine at the Bazaar!

Visit the cafeteria to purchase delicious homemade frozen foods and sweets, visit the Dine Around Booth to win a gift certificate for an award-winning local restaurant, or indulge in a Bazaar-favorite while you’re at the Bazaar. Choose from a variety of food sure to please the entire family, including fried seafood and chicken, delicious hamburgers, fresh Caesar salad, piping hot Reginelli’s Pizza, crispy Kim Anh’s Noodle House Egg Rolls, and Drago’s charbroiled oysters. Come hungry!

Bazaar T-shirts

Bazaar t-shirts are for sale throughout the week in the Student Commons for $10 each. They will also be sold at the Bazaar in the T-shirt Booth.
