Chi Alpha Mu Pre-freshmen Excel at Brother Martin Middle School Math Tournament

Six pre-freshmen members of the newly formed Chi Alpha Mu club were in top form Friday, October 9 as they represented Jesuit at Brother Martin’s Middle School Math Tournament. The team comprised of Max Holmes, Tom Levy, and Winston Smith placed first, while the team of Andrew Farnsworth, Dylan Sellers, and Caden Swain placed second in the Algebra I team competition. Dylan Sellers was Jesuit’s top individual competitor, while Caden Swain’s relay team took top honors.

Chi Alpha Mu, standing for Creative Adventures in Mathematics, is the National Junior Mathematics Club for middle schools. Founded in 1967, the organization was reactivated by Mu Alpha Theta in 2008 to promote enjoyment and understanding of mathematics by middle school students.
