First and second year novices.

The Society of Jesus welcomed two Blue Jays as novices at the Jesuit Novitiate of St. Stanislaus Kostka in Grand Coteau, Louisiana: Alex Coffee ’11 and Jordan Jones ’01.

Coffey is originally from Meraux, Louisiana and graduated from the University of Louisiana Lafayette majoring in psychology. He was an active member of Our Lady of Wisdom Church and the Ragin’ Cajun Catholic Ministry at ULL. There he was engaged in a variety of service and fellowship activities. As a hobby, Coffey enjoys playing racquetball.

Jones, from Thibodaux, Louisiana, is a native of New Orleans where he attended Holy Name of Jesus School and Jesuit High School. Jones received an appointment to the United States Naval Academy where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in ocean engineering. He then served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 9 years, most recently as Infantry Company Commander. He enjoys running, skiing, riding a motorcycle and traveling. While at Jesuit, Jones was a cross country runner.

Jesuit High School is proud to have contributed to the formation of these young men and drawn them to follow in the footsteps of St. Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Jesuits. Let us remember Alex and Jordan in our prayers as they enter the first two years of Jesuit formation as novices in Grand Coteau. We wish Alex and Jordan the best and that God may grant the grace of final perseverance.
