Three Track and Field Members Place in Top 5 at State Meet

Sophomore Jandon Briscoe (pictured here at the district meet) ran to a second place and state runner-up finish, and set a school record in the process, at the State Meet in Baton Rouge.

On Saturday, May 9, three track and field team members — seniors Austin Schott and Patrick LaCour and sophomore Jandon Briscoe — competed in the LHSAA State Track and Field Meet at LSU.

Each Blue Jay scored in their individual events. Schott, competing in the pole vault, cleared 14 feet, 6 inches to finish in 5th place. LaCour ran the 800 meters in 2 minutes to come in 5th place. In the 400 meter dash, Briscoe ran a personal best time of 48.62 seconds to a second place and state runner-up finish, setting a school record in the process.
