Audition Info

The show features a large ensemble cast with many feature roles. Open to students in eighth grade and up. (Younger students/”future Phils” should not attend this audition. Parents, please email the director for further information.)

It is mandatory that you complete an audition form, available in the Phil’s office, Room 201 or by download here.

Everyone must be prepared to sing and dance.

  • Singers should prepare a full song, preferably from the show (but not required). We plan to have an accompanist, but all should be prepared to sing a cappella. Auditioners interested only in chorus may sing with a group.
  • Wear clothing you can move in and bring dance shoes.

For further information please contact Mrs. Arthurs-Goldberg in the Phil’s office or e-mail arthurs@jesuitnola.org.

About the Show

The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band he vows to organize — this despite the fact he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen – See more at: http://www.mtishows.com/show_detail.asp?showid=000053.
